Born in Halifax Nova Scotia, Brother James A. Luddington joined the Navy in 1970, as a Weapons Tech. He attended recruit training in Cornwallis N.S. and went on to trades training at Stadacona in Halifax. He served on various ships and shore establishments over the next 19 years.
In 1990 he was posted to St John N.B. as a Quality Assurance Inspector on the Canadian Patrol Frigate Program. In 1993 he was posted to HMCS Montreal as the Combat Systems Chief. In 1995 he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer 1st class and posted to Marlant HQ. as the Naval Weapons Tech trade manager. Brother Luddington was posted to Fleet Maintenance Facility Cape Scott as the Command Ammunition Inspector for ships and shore establishments on the east coast.
Brother Luddington was posted to HMCS Fredericton in 1998 as Coxswain, where he did two NATO deployments numerous sea operations.
In 2001 Brother Luddington was promoted to Lieutenant (N) and posted to Windsor Park as the Officer in Charge of Recruit Training. Following recruit training he was posted to Canadian Forces Naval Engineering School as the Officer in Charge of Naval Weapons Tech Training.
Brother Luddington retired from the navy in July of 2003, and remained in the Supplementary Reserve and worked with Sea Cadets over the next several years.
Brother Luddington Joined Harmony Lodge in 2003 where both his father and brother were members. He progressed through the chairs of the lodge and served as Wor. Master in 2007 and again in 2011.
Bother Luddington served as District Deputy Grand Master for Kings District in 2013 -2014 and he is currently the Senior Grand Warden of the Grand Lodge of Nova Scotia.
Brother Luddington and his wife Anna reside in South Greenwood.
